I decided to start a new blog because I have A LOT to say! I have had this huge struggle with food lately!
First off, let's start with a little bit of history.
I'm 5'8" so fairly tall. I've always had eating problems. In high school I weighed less than 100 pounds (89 to be exact) I didn't obsess about food at all but in my mind I didn't look right; I looked overweight. I skipped a lot of meals but that was more a social thing than a "concerned about weight" thing.
Before getting pregnant with my 1st child, I was up to a more healthy 145. Again, I thought I was pretty overweight. I only gained about 22 pounds the whole pregnancy and was able to lose it all afterward, but of course my body had changed and I looked different.
1 gall bladder surgery and 3 kids later I had a real problem.
Prior to delivery of my 4th child, I was over 200 pounds. Unfortunately for me, my baby only weighed in at 5lbs 10 oz. So I had a lot of weight to lose.
Although I had tried many times to eat better, I officially began my weight loss journey almost 4 years ago after the birth of my 4th child. I weighed in at 185, 5 weeks after she was born. We moved to a new house and along with it came a new lifestyle. First of all, we had stairs, so I was now running up and down the stairs all day. Secondly, we moved into the boonies with only one car that my husband needed to commute to work with. I had to get my kids to school witch was a little over a mile away. So I was suddenly walking over 4 miles a day to get them to school. This, along with nursing a baby (burning all those calories) is how I was able to lose 37 pounds! I got as far down as 148 and kinda got stuck for awhile. With the cost of moving into our first home, we also didn't eat out as much, but other than that I didn't change my eating habits enough.
